In this class you will gain an understanding into why and how a low carbohydrate approach might work, when it is most useful and how to go about implementing it into your daily diet. We will cover the theory, touching on fat and carbohydrate metabolism, performance and health markers and what is means to fuel the work required.

The skills, methods and recipes we will cover include:

  • Breakfast – low carbohydrate and fasted training ideas, caffeine and protein to help
  • Recovery nutrition – delayed carbohydrate feeding, high protein and fluid replenishment
  • Main meals – low vs high calorie substitutions; portion control; complete meals; DIY rices, mashes and noodles
  • Snacks – protein-fiber-fat mixes to fill the gaps
