In this class you will learn about when, why and how to fuel correctly to get the most out of any training session, race or event. We start with the background theory so you can understand the process, how the body takes on fuel, where it goes and how much you need as well as some of the common issues and mistakes athletes make. In the kitchen we will put this into practice so you can learn the skills needed and bank a few recipes for your next training session. We will taste examples, experiment a bit and take home your supply for the next session on the trails, road or gym.
We will cover:
- Pre Exercise Top Ups (the perfect breakfast, quick snacks and performance enhancers)
- On The Go (sportables, packaged foods with real ingredients)
- Recovery (foods to rehydrate, refuel and repair)
